Spring 2021

Arcadia's Spring 2021 semester begins Jan. 25 and has a limited opening of the campus that includes a selection of courses and academic and co-curricular experiences. Our plan remains All-Modes Ready to respond to the unpredictable paths of COVID and this season's flu. Our decisions this year have been grounded in the health and safety of the Arcadia community, and that philosophy and our values will continue to drive University decisions moving forward.

Course instruction will remain mostly online for Spring 2021 with some All-Modes classes starting January 25, 2021. Arcadia will offer on-campus supplemental instruction and experiential opportunities that connect with some of our courses and academic programs.

Success in the gradual resumption of campus operations is dependent on our access to testing, our contact tracing effectiveness, and our commitment as a community.

The community, students, and families will be updated as we have more information and details in the coming weeks. List of topics addressing academics, athletics, study abroad, etc.

Campus Usage

Undergraduate and graduate students not residing on campus in the spring semester will need to apply for campus usage. It is important to reiterate that such access would require strict compliance with all health and safety guidelines, including regular testing. Information and instructions on how to apply will be communicated to students in the coming weeks. Contact housing@arcadia.edu or 215-572-4026 for more information.

Study Abroad

As a result of the current and potential additional pressure on the healthcare systems in the UK and Ireland, Arcadia Abroad has made the very difficult decision to cancel spring 2021 programs at partner universities in England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. The Office of International Programs invites you to participate in Preview 2021, which will be offered virtually for the spring semester.

Athletics

Athletics will continue to follow regulations and guidelines from the NCAA and related sports organizations, as well as state and regional public health organizations. For the Spring 2021 semester, access to the Kuch Center and related athletic facilities will be limited to student-athletes (resident or commuter), residential students, and commuter students that are approved for campus access. Faculty and staff outside of Athletics will not be permitted to use the workout facilities.

The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Presidents announced on Dec. 2 information about a tentative spring framework for the basketball, swimming, and indoor track seasons, which can be found on the Arcadia Athletics website. Athletics will continue to communicate with student-athletes and their families about changes and updates.

ARCADIASTRONG Community Commitment to Safe Practices

Success in the gradual resumption of campus operations is dependent on our access to testing, our contact tracing effectiveness, and our commitment as a community in remaining ARCADIA STRONG against COVID-19 and the flu.  To safely expand our campus access and usage, our campus community will commit to a campus compact to protect and respect our community by embracing physical distancing practices, wearing masks, and limiting group gatherings. WEAR A MASK - WASH HANDS - SAFELY DISTANCE - LIMIT GATHERINGS.

Spring On-campus Instruction and Supplemental Programming

In addition to online learning, Arcadia is offering some All-Modes classes and supplemental programming opportunities that connect with some of our courses.
