Arcadia University alumna Meg Eubank ’05, ’07MEd has been named 2022 Teacher of Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Teacher of the Year. Presented by TESOL International Association and National Geographic Learning, the award recognizes exceptional English language teachers at all levels.

“I am greatly honored and humbled because there are many hard-working and deserving teachers doing great work during this difficult pandemic,” Eubank says. “This recognition is exciting and validating, and it inspires me to keep working to improve my teaching and help others learn the best methods to work with English language learners. I have to acknowledge, too, the excellent education I received at my alma mater, Arcadia University, which is where I learned many skills that I’m being awarded for today and where my love of teaching was cemented.”

Eubank is a professor at Bucks County Community College and a doctoral student at the University of Houston. She has worked with thousands of people from diverse populations all over the globe as a college instructor, nonprofit director, professional tutor, high school teacher, and curriculum designer.

Eubank “embodies all that the award represents through her high-quality instructional practices, ability to help [English language learners] advocate for themselves and build community, and commitment to ongoing professional development,” TESOL representatives said.

The January 2022 issue of TESOL Connections features an interview with Eubank.
