Dean Presents on Art Therapy, Eating Disorders

Michelle Dean, adjunct professor of Pre-Art Therapy, presented “Let’s Talk! Member Forum: Sharing Ideas and Cultivating Foresight for Art Therapy” alongside American Art Therapy Association (AATA) board members at the AATA Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she also facilitated a Master’s Supervision session on working with clients who have eating disorders.

Dean will also deliver the keynote address, “The Shattered Self: Symbolic Expression and the Treatment of Trauma and the Workshop: Trauma and the Psyche: Engaging Arts and Symbolic Expression,” at the Southeastern Expressive Therapies Conference in Milledgeville, Georgia on March 2 and 3.

Additionally, Dean will be a judge for the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP) Foundation’s “Imagine Me” art show. IAEDP presents its annual body image art competition as a means of increasing awareness through artistic expression. The event will be held in conjunction with IAEDP’s annual symposium from March 22 to 25 in Orlando, Florida.
