Adding References Manually
- Select Collect at the top of the screen and then New Reference
- Select appropriate reference type (i.e., book, journal article, Web page) from the Reference Type drop-down menu
- Enter information in the appropriate fields. You do not need to fill out every field
- Click Save
Importing Citations from our Online Catalog
- Click on the book to view the complete record
- On the right side of the screen, click Go to save record as RIS
- You will then need to download the file and save it to your computer
- Log into EndNote Web.
- Go to the Collect tab and pick Import References
- Browse and find the file
- For your Import Option select Citation from the list
- Select which folder you wish to save the article to, and then click Import
Importing Citations From a Database
From Any EBSCO Database (Academic Search Premier, ERIC, PsycINFO and more):
- Click on the article title to view the complete article record
- Click on the Export icon (a piece of paper with a green arrow) in the Tools menu to the right side of the screen
- Select Direct Export to EndNote Web (it is the last choice in the list), then click Save on the left
- You will be taken to EndNote Web, where you will see that your references have imported
From JSTOR:
- Click on the article title to view the complete article record
- Click Export Citation in the small menu box to the top right of the screen
- Where it says Select a Format click on RIS file
- You will then need to download the file and save it to your computer
- Log into EndNote Web
- Go to the Collect tab and pick Import References
- Browse and find the file
- For your Import Option select JSTOR from the list
- Select which folder you wish to save the article to, and then click Import
From SAGE Premier:
- Click on the article abstract or full text link
- In the Services box of to the right side of the screen, click Download to Citation Manager
- Under where it says EndNote Web, click Click Here to Download and save the file
- A window will open. Click Save Page As in your browser menu
- Add .ris to the file name and then click save
- Log into EndNote Web
- Go to the Collect tab and pick Import References
- Browse and find the file
- For your Import Option select Citation from the list
- Select which folder you wish to save the article to, and then click Import
From Web of Knowledge:
- Check the box next to the citations you want
- Click Add to Marked List
- Click on Marked List near the top to view the citations you have checked
- Click Save to My EndNote Web. You will get a message saying that the records were sent to your EndNote Web library
- You can now click My EndNote Web at the very top of the page to verify that your references are there
From Taylor & Francis:
- Click on the article title and scroll down past the abstract
- Under the abstract you will see a small menu with many choices (Facebook, Twitter, etc). Click Download Citation
- Download as RIS format and save the file to your computer
- Log into EndNote Web
- Go to the Collect tab and pick Import References
- Browse and find the file
- For your Import Option, select Citation from the list
- Select which folder you wish to save the article to, and then click Import
