We ask international students to make flight arrangements to arrive on August 20, 2019 at the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). We are able to arrange transportation to pick you up at the airport and bring you to the Arcadia campus.
If you would like to be met at PHL (Philadelphia International Airport) please send your e-ticket and flight itinerary to Meredith Mashner.
If you arrive before the published date, please know that we are not able to arrange transportation for you, and that campus housing is not yet open. If you choose to arrive early, you are responsible for securing accommodation or hotel and for your own transportation.
If you arrive into a different airport (for example, JFK John F. Kennedy International Airport , or LGA La Guardia in New York or EWR Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, New Jersey), we are not able to provide transportation. We may be able to assist you in hiring a private car service or providing information about public trains and buses. The costs of transportation are your responsibility.
Orientation is required for all new international students.
Meet at 9:00 am on Wednesday August 21, 2019, at the Landman Library.
Bring these things with you to Orientation:
Your I-20 or DS-2019
Your health insurance card or certificate
Your yellow Health Record Form or other paper medical forms
You will also be asked to report your US address and telephone number.
Orientation runs for one week from August 21-August 27. There are scheduled activities on the weekend of August 24-August 25. Classes begin August 28, 2019.
It is absolutely mandatory that all students have completed health records in order to be registered for classes. You should complete this in your home country before you come to the U.S. It is very expensive to see a doctor in the U.S.!
There are 2 ways to submit your Health Records to Arcadia University.
On the home screen, click the button that says “Patient Portal”
Upload Physical Exam and Immunization History documents in PDF or JPG. The Physical Exam page was included in your Acceptance Packet. Click here to download a copy. Your immunization history is usually kept with your doctor. Sometimes, students have small booklets containing this information. Please share with us whatever you have.
Complete your online Immunization Record
Have your doctor at home complete the Health Record Formcompletely
Collect your immunization information or your health history booklet
Bring these papers with you to Orientation
Schedule an appointment via the My Arcadia Patient Portal to see a staff member at the Student Health Services Office during the first week of class
Complete the process in person
All international students and scholars are required to have health insurance for the duration of your stay in the US. You must present proof of health insurance at Orientation, or we will enroll you in one of our plans.
To be sure that your coverage meets the university’s requirements, you may either enroll in our university’s student health insurance plan or in a plan through our partner, Geo Blue. Information about these options was sent to you in your Acceptance Packet. If you have any questions, please contact us.
