In response to the University's significant changes to classes and operations regarding COVID-19, the Arcadia community is working hard to support our students and alumni during this challenging time. We know that Arcadia alumni care deeply about the University and our students and might be seeking ways to help.
The Office of Career Education has assembled this resource guide* for students and alumni who are navigating the workforce in this time of uncertainty. *NOTE: This Guide is being updated regularly to reflect the most current information at both state and national levels.
If you are in a position to take on a student intern or know of employment opportunities for the class of 2020 and/or experienced alumni, please share positions with the Office of Career Education (OCE) and we will post them on your behalf in Arcadia’s career management system, Handshake. If you prefer, you may instead email these opportunities to email@example.com (be sure to let us know you are an alum in your email). All current students and alumni have access to Handshake.
How Arcadia Can Support You
Arcadia alumni may meet with a Career Educator virtually via Zoom to discuss changes in your career and your career development needs resulting from this economic slowdown. Specifically, we can support you in developing effective job search strategies, networking, interviewing, and/or crafting application materials (resumes, cover letters, grad school personal statements). We offer up to four complimentary meetings with a Career Educator to Arcadia alumni. Arcadia alumni who have matriculated one semester toward a degree (undergraduate or graduate) are eligible to schedule up to four complimentary meetings with a professional Career Educator. To schedule a virtual meeting, visit Handshake. If you are creating an account for the first time, please visit arcadia.joinhandshake.com/register and select the Students/Alumni tab. You will be able to register for an account with a personal email. Alumni accounts are typically reviewed and approved by OCE within 48 hours of registration.

If you are willing to offer professional advice to current students, we encourage you to consider offering your perspective as an alumni mentor.Through the Alumni Career Mentor Program, you have the opportunity to be matched with current Arcadia students based on similar interests, majors, geographic location, and career goals. It is a great way for you to share your experience and expertise with the next generation of Arcadians. The Alumni Career Mentor Program also provides opportunities for mid- and senior-level professionals to mentor and provide guidance to our recent graduates who are in their early- to mid-career stages.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor to other alumni or in requesting a mentor, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at firstname.lastname@example.org or 215-517-2566.
If you have questions, please reach out to Arcadia University’s Office of Career Education at email@example.com.
