A successful career path is yours for the taking, so hit the Road!
Whether you are exploring multiple majors or searching for information about your chosen field, the What Can I Do With This Major site will help you connect more than 80 majors to hundreds of career options. You can also view the first employers of Arcadia grads by major. Additionally, you can get started with your personal e3 Career Action Plan! e3 will help you stay on track and follow clear action steps as you begin to transition from college to career during your time at Arcadia.
To help figure out your career direction, students often find our career interest inventories helpful; and you can meet with a Career Educator afterward to go over your results. It's just as important to figure out what kind of career you don't want to have, as much as the one that you do! Arcadia offers a 2-credit class, Strategic Career Planning: ID125, that is completely devoted to helping you strategize your career goals while you're still on campus. Next, you'll need information about jobs and professions, using the Occupational Outlook Handbook. Finally, begin to identify prospective employers using resources like Handshake, Vault, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and Idealist.
To start your job search, you'll need a résumé, a cover letter, and to prepare for interviews. Learn about job search strategies and explore our job and internship databases. Start your career planning while you have a support system in place, even if you're confused and uncertain. Make an appointment with a Career Educator through Handshake. We also offer daily Express Advising during the academic year, no appointment needed. Finally, reach out to your professors, alumni with experience in various fields, and explore these online career resources.
Arcadia's newest "40 Under 40" selection is a great place to see where and how Arcadia Alum have put their degrees to good use. The featured bios give you a sneak peak of the many career paths available beyond your time at Arcadia!
